- If you're using the Flash mode of JW Player, you can place a crossdomain.xml file on the server that hosts the captions.

"JW Player 6 supports both external and embedded captions:
- External captions can be in WebVTT format (HTML5 standard), but also DFXP (: Timed Text Markup Language , TTML) and older SRT are supported. In all cases, the captions are stored and served as separate text files
- Embedded captions can be in TX3G format (MP4 standard). The captions are stored inside the MP4 video files, requiring no separate downloads

...The captions plugin no longer uses an .FLA file to compile; you will need to use the free Flex framework and run the build.sh file. Or, if you prefer to use an .FLA, just create a blank one in the same folder, and set the "Class" property to "com.jeroenwijering.plugins.Captions".

Licensing

The player is licensed under a Creative Commons License. It allows you to use, modify and redistribute the script, but only for noncommercial purposes. Examples of commercial use include: websites with any advertisements; websites owned or operated by corporations; websites designed to promote other products, such as a band or artist; products (e.g. a CMS) that bundle LongTail products into its offering.
